DIRT WURX USA lends hand for country singer Craig Morgan's 8th annual Billy's Place Charity Event

DICKSON, Tenn., (Aug. 6, 2014) – Former AMA pro motocrosser and top DIRT WURX USA operator Chris Blankenship led DIRT WURX’s annual ‘feel good’ trip to Dickson, Tenn., to put a best-in-the-business tune on country & western singer Craig Morgan’s MX track for the 8th annual Charity Motocross Ride, concert and Sporting Clay Shoot to benefit “Billy’s Place,” a welcoming home founded by Morgan to assist temporarily displaced children.

With limited time and one dozer on site, Blankenship would tune up the originally-built DIRT WURX USA, highlighted by riding from fan-favorite MX/SX great Kevin “KDub” Windham, along with off-road legends Randy Hawkins and Fred Andrews.

“We had a last-minute change with Craig’s schedule, which gave us about 24 hours to tune up the track for Sunday’s event,” said Blankenship. “We had a small dozer and basically just cleaned things up, changed a couple corners then made the triple (see photo) a bit bigger, steepened it and shaped up the landing. Next year the plan is to get after it more.”

With Windham throwing his famous pancake whips for those in attendance, the big surprise came when Morgan himself – just a month and a half removed from shoulder surgery – booted up and rode with the fellas.

“What’s a charity ride for Billy’s Place if I can’t be part of it!” exclaimed Morgan.
After the riding was complete, including a seven-mile single trail ride on Morgan’s buddy Paul Allen’s property, Morgan’s Billy’s Place charity event reconvened in downtown Dickson where country and western stars Tracy Lawrence and Chuck Wicks performed, along with Morgan.

“Always a great time being down at Craig’s place with KDub and everybody,” said Blankenship. “And it’s definitely a good cause and something Rich (Winkler, DIRT WURX USA founder) believes in strongly.”

DIRT WURX USA donates its time and expenses to the cause for Morgan’s event in Dickson, Tenn. – with all proceeds benefitting Billy’s Place, a component fund of the Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation. The organizations primary goal is to assist foster children in Dickson County and throughout Middle Tennessee.
