DIRT WURX USA gets it done on both sides of the pond, Monster SX in LA & UK SX in London

DIRT WURX splits its crews and bangs out the season’s “busiest” track yet at Anaheim, according to Winkler … London’s O2 Arena nearly sells out

MONROE, N.Y. (Feb. 11, 2011) – With a sellout crowd at Anaheim’s (Calif.) Angels Stadium andimg near sellout at London’s O2 Arena, supercross racing popularity is at an all-time high. And providing the battleground for the combatants – whether it’s here in the States or across the Atlantic in the UK – is the world’s premier supercross track design and construction company, DIRT WURX USA.

This past week – in a show of company versatility unsurpassed in the MX industry – DIRT WURX USA principal Rich Winkler split his crew, leading a number of key DIRT WURX USA operating engineers over to London while two of his longtime operators, Norm Bickley and Chris Blankenship, led the build on the Anaheim Two track.

“Anaheim Two was, by far, the biggest, busiest track thus far this season,” said Winkler. “We built a section that (James) Stewart was able to go triple/triple/quad through – something that no other rider could accomplish on a consistent basis. Stewart would gain a half second a lap by jumping this feature the way he did.”

Anaheim Two’s sellout was nearly matched by a huge crowd at London’s O2 Arena. Promoter John Hellam was again pleased with Winker’s effort, creating a technical track that still allowed for good flow and numerous places to pass. American Mike Brown won the Pro SX2 class and Shaun Simpson won the Pro SX1 class.

Also: Winkler made sure to note the excellent move by Feld Motor Sports’ Dave Prater this week when Prater called out a weather situation off the coast of California that caused the DIRT WURX USA crew to radically adjust their schedules on the busiest weekend of the first quarter.

“A good call was made by Dave Prater, who picked up a sever weather front approaching the San Diego area on the Weather Channel on his phone,” explained Winkler. “We’d all pretty much overlooked the situation and Prater stuck with it, alerting us to the potential work delay due to the weather.”

Winkler explained that, between Monster Energy Supercross and USHRA Monster Trucks/Monster Jam, DIRT WURX USA has five events in five cities in the coming week. So flight schedules for the DIRT WURX USA crew were adjusted and the guys will scramble out of Houston early to get after the Qualcomm Stadium track before the rains set in!
